The Hotel Cafe Royal looks back on a long history. It was designed by a French wine merchant, who had to flee because of a bankruptcy in France. He changed his name, married and opened the Royal Café. Here they met to see and be seen. The list of celebrities is endless: Oscar Wilde, Aleister Crowley, D. H. Lawrence and Winston Churchill visited the Royal Café, to name a few.

In 2008, a new era begins. Furniture and equipment of the historic cafes are sold – the historic building remains with all functions and devices as it is. The architect David Chipperfield created contemporary London hotel with 159 rooms and suites historical outstanding success of the reconstruction of the Cafe Royal. It offers a range of dining options, a private club, high-tech conference rooms, a wellness spa and a gym with 18-meter pool. The hotel was opened in December 2012.

Precious stones and precious woods, inspired by the historical elements, creating a tasteful and luxurious ambience. The rooms are amongst the largest in London, and the bathrooms are decorated with Carrara marble, typical of the whole Cafe Royal.
