The Cliveden House is a 5-star hotel in the English village of Taplow on the River Thames, about 25 km west of London. The Cliveden House has a colorful history: Built in 1766 the building burned down twice before it was rebuilt in 1851 for the then second Duke of Sutherland in the Italian style again. 1893 it passed into the possession of the famous Astor family who even import the terrace of the Villa Borghese in Rome in the course of renovations and reinstalled it at the Park Cliveden House. After  beeing long time privately owned, nowaday owns the property in Taplow  the National Trust, which it rents out as an exclusive hotel.
