The Hotel Cipriani Belmond stands on the small island of Giudecca in the Dorsoduro area, which extends south of the city center of Venice in approximately east-west direction. From the eastern tip of the island, the site of the hotel, the view goes across to St Mark’s Square and the neighboring island of San Giorgio Maggiore. The hotel offers guests a shuttle service to the nearby St. Mark’s Square, the main tourist attraction of the city. The St. Mark’s Basilica with its wonderful bell tower and The Doge’s Palace in St. Mark’s Square are certainly on the tour program of every tourist! But even a stroll on the island of Giudecca is worthwhile.
